The village of Enter

Just a 10–15 minute drive from Buitenplaats Holten lies the charming village of Enter. This centrally located village was once home to over a hundred clog makers. They even built their own boats to transport the clogs – which earned Enter the nickname “the village of clogs and flatboats.”

But Enter is more than just a nod to the past. In the village centre you’ll find Twente’s most stylish shopping street. A visit to Roetgerink fashion and shoes is definitely worth it. Afterwards, unwind with a drink or lunch at Brasserie R-1854.

Sail on the Enterse Zomp

Step aboard an authentic zomp and experience the charm of the Regge River. As you glide through the Twente countryside, you'll hear stories from the past and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Join a group trip or hop on for an open departure tour.

Clog and Zomp Museum

Step back in time and explore the history of Enter. Discover how wooden clogs were made by hand and learn why this village played such an important role in the shipbuilding of flatboats. Fun and educational!

The Enterse Waarf

This is a working shipyard where you can see how a traditional zomp is built entirely by hand – just like in the old days. Here, craftsmanship comes to life. Tip: a walking route through the beautiful Reggedal nature area starts right here.

Twente’s fashion street

Attention, fashion lovers! Roetgerink is the region’s top spot for fashion and shoes. A huge store with a wide collection of branded clothing – you’ll find everything under one roof. Even if you don’t need anything, it’s worth stepping inside.
