De Sallandse Heuvelrug play forest

De Sallandse Heuvelrug play forest is a play forest of the Staatsbosbeheer and is located on the Sallandse Heuvelrug. This forest is ideal to spend a day climbing, clambering and crawling in the forest. Besides swinging and swaying through the trees, you can also deviate from the route and build your own huts. For challenging assignments you can do tasks that can be found in the assignment booklet of Joep and Jonas the squirrel!

In addition to the play forest there is also an outdoor centre with all information about the nature, geology and history of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. This centre also has a café-restaurant to have a bite to eat after an active day in the play forest.

The booklets are available for ages 4 to 8 years and 8 to 12 years.
Dogs are not allowed
The outdoor centre is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00.

Experience the liberation of Twente and Salland in the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. From Holten to Nijverdal a beautiful walking route has been plotted that goes along many remains that remind us of the second world war and the liberation. The walking route starts at the Memory Museum in Nijverdal and ends at the NS station in Holten.
